ENTREPRENEURIAL TRAITS THAT DATO’ HAJI RAMLY DEMONSTRATES AND HOW ASSIST THEM TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THEIR VENTURE

          The entrepreneur who is proactive is Dato' Haji Ramly Bin Mokni founder of Ramly Burger, also known as the Burger Ramly, is a Malaysian street burger through Pemasaran Ramly Mokni Sdn Bhd in Malaysia. The owner of the company has more than 30 years in this field. Beginning with the release manual and small, he has successfully developed this business to a level commercial. Beginning with a small loan from the Development Bank in 1982, the company has now evolved and grown to the parent company Ramly Mokni Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries in company Ramly Food Processing Sdn. Bhd., Ramly Mokni Marketing Sdn. Bhd., Ramly Supermart Sdn. Bhd. and Ramly Mokni Bakery Sdn. Bhd. The Company has granted recognition three times by the excellence of the performance of the Development Bank of the Best Project Award (1982), Client Development Award (1984) and Jaya Entrepreneur Award (1992).

CONCLUSION & REFRENCES

           Based on task 1(a) we already describe more about the several entrepreneurial traits that highly needed and applied to operate the business by the entrepreneurs, which is networked, open risk taker, observant, visionary, failure is an option, open culture, outcome oriented, team oriented, team oriented and proactive and in task 1(b) we choose Dato Haji Ramly bin Mokni as our choice to complete our task. What we can learn from this assignment is we can know more about the entrepreneurial traits and also about the successful entrepreneurs in Malaysia. The reason we chose Dato Haji Ramly bin Mokni because he can be as our role model in business especially as a muslim. Now day we can see a lot of successful entrepreneurs in Malaysia and in the world, example Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gate and in Malaysia there are Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhari, Datu Wan Mohammad Sani Salleh, Datu Wira Dr. Maznah Hamid and so on.

THE BACKGROUND OF SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENUER : DATO’ HAJI RAMLY BIN MOKNI

Ramly Food Processing Sdn Bhd is a well-known Bumiputra-owned food-based manufacturer dealing in meat-based products such as beef, chicken and seafood. The company was founded in 1984 from a pure desire by owners, Dato' Haji Ramly Bin Mokni and Datin Hajjah Shala Siah Binti Abdul Manap to produce halal, clean and quality products.

OPEN RISK TAKER

Open risk taker is the synonym things that must uncounted by each entrepreneur to succeed in any undertaking. Dare to take risks means brave through life itself, in other words we believe will get something valuable lessons despite the risk we taken. Talking about risk like sad, William J.Bernstein in her book “The Four Pillars of Investing”, “Risk, like pornography, is difficult to define, but we think we know it when we see it”. Dare to take risks as well as to accept any possibility to fall to persevere and make it as a springboard to continue to build a bright future.

PROACTIVE

Proactive means entrepreneur must have the right purposes and are able in itself to guarantee success in business. In this case, this is a proactive approach to business conditions involved in market and competition. Most of the many entrepreneurs need to take proactive steps to address problems encountered. Proactive behavior aims at identification and exploitation of opportunities and in taking preemptory action against potential problems and threats. Proactive action is effected by the entrepreneur brings changes to things that happen on him (Coulter, 2000).

Every entrepreneur has a different personality example, style, feelings and behaviour that indicated up to lead to change. Through this they have to defend the business their business in earnest without easily give up. In addition, the entrepreneur must have positive minded attitude in everything they do (David McClelland, 1961).

TEAM ORIENTED

According to Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary (2015), team refers to a group of people who work together at a particular job while oriented refers to direct somebody or something towards something beside to make or adapt somebody or something for a particular purpose. Thus, team oriented refers to someone works with others effectively and able to contribute in achievement of organization and group targets. They will accept responsibility and ownership project sharing and can maintain communicate with team members with open mind. They usually utilize strength of individuals within group to the benefits of the team.

OUTCOME ORIENTED

According to Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary (2015), outcome refers to the effect or result of an event or an action while oriented refers to direct somebody or something towards something beside to make or adapt somebody or something for a particular purpose. Based on The Workplace (2015), outcome oriented same meaning with result- oriented while according to 12 Manage The Executive Fast Track (2015), a outcome oriented leader can achieve maximum result based on clear and measurable agreement made previously. Hence, the employees can understand the goal clearly and achieve in short periods.

VISIONARY

Visionary entrepreneurs manage to achieve more with less, to inspire others and lead them to creating extraordinary services and products by concentrating on growth before concentrating on profit. The business world needs good leaders and entrepreneurship often creates and shapes visionary leaders who are ready to change the world.

OPEN CULTURE

 'Open Culture'' is a concept according to which knowledge should be spread freely and its growth should come from developing, altering or enriching already existing works on the basis of sharing and collaboration, without being restricted by rules linked to the legal protection of intellectual property.

FAILURE IS AN OPTION

Failure is always an option, a phrase popularized by Adam Savage from MythBusters, is a powerful ideology all of us should embrace. Nobody wants to fail, but failing is inevitable on your way to success. So if you never fail then it probably means that you do nothing. Failing shows that you actually do something instead of just sitting in your comfort zone.

OBSERVANT

Observant mean visual acuity or more specifically said to be thorough in doing a job. A successful entrepreneur is one who is able to think far ahead, critical, creative and innovative towards entrepreneurship because they need to identify opportunities in their environment and how through careful observation in order to generate ideas, images or steps towards a move to grab opportunities and also be able to solve a problem in business. Successful entrepreneurs can analyze the environment and seize opportunities quickly. They wisely observes business conditions without releasing all available opportunities to develop the business.

NETWORKED

Networked means clever and creative entrepreneurs find opportunities in the conduct of their business. In this context, the entrepreneur cannot be arrogant and cocky. . Entrepreneurs also need to find more new friends in the business world to commercialize their goods to the rest of the world. In addition, entrepreneurs also need to have a good relationship between the mass media in the commercialization of their goods through advertisements. A good relationship can add advanced enterprise their business anymore (Coulter, 2000).

INTRODUCTION

The two tasks where given to us to do for our Introduction to the Entrepreneurship assignment. First, we describe about the nine entrepreneurial traits that an entrepreneur should possess and how it’s applied to operate their business. We also give the examples of entrepreneur that have each of the traits. On the other hand, we choose one entrepreneur that best fits with all the traits and brief biography about him. The entrepreneur is Dato Haji Ramly bin Mokni. We explain how he possesses five of the traits and how this traits helps Dato haji Ramli to be successful in their ventures.
