According to Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary
(2015), team refers to a group of people who work together at a particular job
while oriented refers to direct somebody or something towards something beside
to make or adapt somebody or something for a particular purpose. Thus, team
oriented refers to someone works with others effectively and able to contribute
in achievement of organization and group targets. They will accept
responsibility and ownership project sharing and can maintain communicate with
team members with open mind. They usually utilize strength of individuals
within group to the benefits of the team.
Saiful Nang shows team oriented in leading his
team. Saiful Nang is the Executive Chairman and Founder for Colours of Asia Sdn
Bhd Group of Companies. He is a professional photographer who is well known and
has considerable influence among photographers in Malaysia. He was also awarded
by Mediacorp as one of Asia's best photographers Asia, and is listed by the
Council as 20 of the most creative and successful entrepreneurs in Malaysia.
Saiful Nang is B.Sc degree holder (Media) Film & Animation at the
Multimedia University in 2000 and later received a Bachelor of Royal Melbourne
Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia. Next MPA (UK), Master Photographer,
Licentiate and is now completing a doctorate at Universiti Utara Malaysia in
the field of management.
He started the whole business in 2004 with on
RM90 capital and manage to grow it into a group of companies. In 2005 he put
his hand together with another 19 companions to start Loving Care Home
Residents (Rumah Pengasih Warga Prihatin). It's a research centre about Social
Civilization & Moral. However, the subject of the research are human, hence
they established an orphanage and underprivileged home to implement what has
been taught in the Quran & Sunnah in total.
Saiful Nang shows team oriented in communicating with his employees. He
believes “Colour of Asia Sdn Bhd should be like a family” so that they will be
more productive. He used to ignore about hour worked but he always pay attentions
to the output. Saiful Nang builds strong relationships with his team when
implementing the best things he can do for them. Besides that Saiful Nang
always motivating his employees to feel they are having a meaningful impact to
the community. As a conclusion, we believe that a leader should be a team
oriented to lead his team to achieve the goal of the company.
